Lenovo laptop goes off while watching streaming video

I have a lenovo laptop which goes off automatically after few minutes whenever we start any video streaming. the timing varies between 5 mins to 20 mins. XP 2 GB ram core 2 duo laptop.
If we use any other applications it runs perfectly for hours.
What could be the problem ?
Is it hardware or software problem ?
Appreciate if someone can help.

Hi Huned.

DO you use 'Lenovo Power Manager'?, or rather, do you have it installed?

If so, either update it to v1.99o [Released on; 20 Mar 2012], or remove it completely and test.

It wouldn't be the first time this has caused issues!

Where is your video fed from? YouTube, DVD, Memory Stick~?

A laptop shutting down may be an issue with power consumption. Do you have the power adapter attached when viewing videos? The battery may be weak.
Also, this could be heat related. Blow out all fans with a can of compressed air. Be sure the laptop has ventilation on the bottom (ex) do no use on carpet or a bed. Use a Laptop cooler.
