joke blue screen

After allowing a friend to frequently use my Dell box running xp, I got a blue desktop telling me that I have serious virus problems. I tried to change back to my nice picture and my screen saver and desktop options were gone. I ran my mcafee and walked away to get a beer. when i got back I had the dreaded blue screen. I restarted the computer only to find out that all my stuff was still running. When talking to a freind and looking around the www I found out that viruses and other malware were sneaking in to my computer when I got the joke blue screen. I have run malware sweeper, advanced windows care v2 personal and spybot sd. It appears that the problem may still be occuring because adverts on web pages still blink with warnings... and I still dont have control of my screen saver or desk top.

A bud of my said I probably have to go deep into the os and individually clean out all of this malware. HELP!

on start up i get windows script host message "cannot find script file c:\documents and settings\owner\local settings\temp\.tt9FB.tmp.vbs"

I have tried to run hujackthis on numerous occasions to include a log of what it found, but when I do, I get locked out of doing anything and have to repeat the shut down and restart process....

Did I mention that a fake ms virus 2008 program keeps trying to kick in and take over? Also, I keep getting warnings that "automatic updates is turned off" When I turn that on, it turns my mcafee off and back and forth that goes.... oh, the fake program is called antivirus xp 2008
