instaling xp pro on wd raptor hd

Ok so i put the xp pro cd in the drive, bang it spins. ok now its at the blue screen (window setup) then it ask to install xp then it says "setup did not find any hard disk drives installed on your computer." and i know i hooked it up right. i hooked my one sata hard drive to the sata1 port. ok so i look at forums for days and download a couple hard disk controller drivers to install at the F6 screen and still no luck maybe im just using the wrong drives. i went to asus website and got the 378 sata sata drive and tried it after usignthe makedisk utility and so i run xp and hit F6 and then put the floppy in and i suposedly instal the drive and then i still get the same message, setup did not find any hard disk drives in staled on your computer etc.
i jsut dont know wut to do :( :( :( :( :( help me plzzzzzzzz anyone lol

This MB has 2 SATA controllers. Promise 20378 RAID and VIA VT8237 RAID controller. You are either doing one of two things here. Using the wrong SATA controller driver or connecting the drive to the wrong controller. The 2 SATA ports on the top are for the VIA controller and the ones on the bottom are for the Promise controller. If you use the Promise controller, make sure the controller is enabled in the BIOS and make sure the drive shows in the Promise BIOS that will appear after the MB BIOS. Either way just make sure the drive shows in the MB BIOS or the Promise BIOS.

asus cables

It's probably not your problem but there seems to be a lot of trouble caused by people using the SATA cables supplied by Asus. Are you using Asus's cables? you might try others. I sprung for the Secureconnect cables ($9) by WD. Did you use the 4 pin power connectoes or the SATA? On WDs site they discuss people believing that the SATA cables provide power which they don't.
