Prudvi,
Welcome to the forum.

Once you've tweaked TCP and Firefox, assuming you're using it,
you may still have work to do.

Your internet connection may be at fault.
Since you didn't fill in the blanks and tell us all about your system, what OS and what ISP you're using we are left guessing.:4-dontkno

I know of NO ISP that absolutely guarantees you a set download speed.
Read the fine print......it will say something like "UP TO (whatever)".
Buying more bandwidth (speed) can usually get you faster downloads.

Also, every byte that you download, including web pages, email, etc., has to be processed and put away by your one processor (CPU chip).

If your processor is busy servicing unneeded programs in the background, your web speed will suffer.

You can minimize those background programs by running MSCONFIG and clicking on the "Startup" tab. Then, Uncheck every program that you don't need running on boot-up.
All the Reminders, Updaters and Schedulers need to be shut off.

There's a whole shopping list of things you (or a technician) can do to improve your system performance, but what I've mentioned here is a good place to start. A computer running slow due to being loaded down with junk, will be slow on the internet as well.

Good Luck to you,
the Shadow
