Hi,
Im not certain as to remove the password and login screen on windows xp
i have gone into users and there is no option on how to disable the login and password screen. I have also gone to the Registry and changed the value of AutoAdminLogon to 1.
However it states :
-cannot edit AutoAdminLogon: Error writing the values new contents-

Please can anyone asssist me in this regard,

Much appreciated

Clint.

Hello Clint

Click Start /Run and type
control userpasswords2
OK
The User Accounts Property Sheet displays.
On “Users” tab, clear the”Users must enter a User name and password to use this computer” box.
”Apply”.
Enter a User name and password that should be used to logon automatically in the dialog box that appears.
OK

.

I,m running XPmedia center, with 2 linksys extenders attached. Will this fix work with that setup?

I don`t know anything about linksys extenders

If they just work between Media Center and your TV you should be ok to use the fix. The fix is applied to the logon screen at bootup.

I recently tried to get rid of the user selection at the welcome screen and when I disabled it it turns off "Fast User Switching" as well. I then got a warning that the media extenders required Fast User Switching to access media center, so I'm stuck at this point I guess.
