Howdy:

I recently acquired a computer that was probably a local machine used to access a home network...

There are two "internet guest accounts" that I cannot delete or disable for some reason...

Does anyone know how to get rid of these accounts?

Thx

T

here are steps that i think will help:

1). Click Start, then Run, in the window that appears type "cmd" (without quotes)

2). in the new window that appears type "net users"

NOTE: verify that in the list of usernames the two accounts you want to delete are there, IF NOT, Don't bother continuing as this will not work

*********************************************************

3).Ok, next type "net user 'insert username here' /delete

Note 1: replace 'insert username here' with one of the ( doesn't matter which one) username of the account you want to delete

Note 2: if the the username contains spaces, you MUST place quotes ("username with space(s)") around it.

*********************************************************

4). If it says "The command completed successfully.", continue, If not please post saying so

5). Redo step "3" again, EXCEPT replacing the 'Insert username here' with the second, undeleted account

6). If it says "The command completed successfully.", Congrats, If not please post saying so

7). Rejoice in celebration, as the two accounts are gone!!!!!!!!!!

***************End Transmition*******************************

Info on "Internet Guest Account" --> http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../bb693984.aspx

You acquired the system and are now the new owner. I would highly suggest that you re-install XP - you really don't know what is on that system.

Regards. . .
