USB Memory stick not saving but able to read and access. any idea how i can get them to (there are 2 of them) accept files??
I can load in a word document from the stick but when i try to save back to the stick it refuses.
I have tried saving to the desktop then copy paste to the stick - same result.
The sticks have plenty of space on them. I can view them and copy and open files from them - its just the saving that seems to be the problem

Mkay, does your memory stick have a lock on it?
Most do and that seems like the behaviour of a locked stick,
If not then you need to check the file permissions,
have you tried saving somewhere else as a different name so not to overwrite the origional files?

cheers,
Jamey

it definately sounds like a file permissions problem, but i don't know a fix in XP,
have you tried saving it with a different filename and then copying them?
have you checked in the file's properties (read-only properties etc.)

also what do you mean by wont accept them? what does windows say?

Cheers,
Jamey
