I have a coolermaster 1000w 80 powersupply and its as loud as hell. I cant find any switch for it ... its supposed to adjsut automatically but its set to full blast louder than my TV .... and i aint using over 200w ?.....
Is there some software to help this? ... What other options do i have.
It wouldn't be advisable to try to adjust the fan speed of the PSU. The fan is controlled by a sensor in the PSU that turns the fan on when temps get too high. I would suggest maybe blowing the dust out of your case to try to lower temps a little. Som PSUs have fan controller knobs on the back, but if your's doesn't, you might be out of luck. :sigh:
Basically, if the PSU gets too hot, it will shut down the computer, and sometimes it can get damaged, which is very bad.
What are your system specs and other temperatures? You can use Everest to find out the specs and SpeedFan to find out the temps (also post the voltages while you are at it).
i fgured out that it wasnt my PSU making all the noise... it was my 80mm case fan... im goign to look for silent case fans... pitty tho its a pain in the *** to remove them.
For case fans you can always get a fan controller. How many fan connectors do you have on the motherboard? If you have enough then plug the 80mm fan into the motherboard so it will be controlled by the CPU sensor.
