Hi, my system is a 160GB Hdd laptop running Windows XP SP3.

I can plug in external HDD, the largest being my IPOD clone which has an physical HDD size of 20 GB. There was no need to change anything in BIOS, Windows explorer just recognized the IPOD drive and it was usable.

When buying an external USB drive, like Iomega, what is the limit that Windows will recognize and use all the space on, just like it can with my IPOD?

Do I have to change BIOS setup for a large external USB drive?

Thanks.

My System

No limit that I know of (except 256TB due to the NTFS file system). A brand new 1.5TB drive should be recognized properly in XP SP3 for instance. Read this for more informations : http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/482/6
