Error:The directory or file cannot be created.?

I'm trying to move selected photos from 'my pictures' to the E:/ drive, I have a card reader and a 2 GB Memory card plugged in a E:/. I only have about 120 pictures on the card. It was working fine about two weeks ago. Now a windows error message comes up when I try to send photos to the drive via "Send to..."

Error copying file or folder
"cannot copy IMG ...." The directory or file cannot be created.

The only thing out of the ordinary that i did was sync about 1000 photos to an ipod with the itunes software. What gives. Please Help.

I think there is a limit to the number of files you can copy to the root. You can only have so many that are not in folders

Try this and see if it works
Make some folders on your desktop name them what you want. E.g. “Pictures 1”, “Pictures 2” etc

Then "move" or "cut" not copy all the photos from the card into the folders on the desktop.

Once all the photos are in the folders on the desktop, cut the folders off the desktop and paste back onto the card.

Files in a folder count as 1 file in the Root directory even if it has many files.
