DVD/CD-RW Drive dosen't read Blank CD

I have Windows XP professional with DVD/CD-RW and I'm been trying to burn a movie but when I do insert the dvd and click BURN a messages comes up INSERT CD,
My DVD/Cd-RW Driver is not reading the disk, How can fix this problem or what I need to do to make it work? help pls:pray :4-dontkno

try this, it has worked for other people I hae given it to and it does not hurt your system


open registry and search for lowerfilters and delete key
start, run type regedit Enter
go up to edit and click find, in box type lowerfilters - if found, right click on lowerfilters and delete and say OK
Do the same for upperfilters and then close registry editor and reboot computer and try to use cd rom

Did you try to use the other data CD in, can your drive read the CD? If it can't, follow the instructions in this thread:
