I really don't understand how this happened but I turned off my computer last night and turned it on today and the internet on my laptop is gone! I opened the network connections and nothing was there, I have no idea how to reconnect it and I can't figure out how to get my system restore to bring me back to a point where it was working since it's saying system restore wasn't even on. I think it's because I did the msconfig and told it I wanted it to only open basic things on startup because I was tired of the yahoo messenger and avg and all sorts of crap starting up that I exit out anyways. Maybe it decided to not start the internet either so I tried to tell it to start everything and still no connection. Please help!! Thank you for your time!

Nothing is there probably because your network drivers may have malfunctioned. Go to you device manager via START > Right Click MY COMPUTER > PROPERTIES > HARDWARE tab > DEVICE MANAGER.

Scroll down to where is lists Network Adapters. If there is nothing there or some of the adapters have malfunctioned then you can simply re-install the drivers and that may end up solving your problems.

What type of computer to you have, is it name brand or custom built? If it is name brand you can simply go to the manufactures website and search for the drivers there. If it is custom built then you will have to go to the maker or the motherboard's website and get them there.

Like btmcbride mentioned - let us know if there are any yellow question marks or exclamation points in Device Manager.

On a side note - you want AVG to start when you turn on your PC! That's your anti-virus! Without that, you are highly vulnerable to infection.
