Don't know if this is the proper place to post this but here goes.

I just purchased Cucusoft MPEG/AVI TO DVD/VCD/SVCD Converter pro.I thought it was a bargain at half-price (12.27).
My problem is....after installing said programme I entered correct licence code then restarted as indicated and then open cucusoft.
I then choose dvd then merge then add file.
Each time I have loaded a avi/divx file and I then get the following.....CUCUSOFT MPEG/AVI main has encountered a problem and needs to close, we are sorry for the inconvenience.
No matter how many times I try different file types I get the same message.
I have installed all the codecs from their website but to no avail, it will not work.
I have sent emails to their support centre but ...no reply.
Have I just wasted my money or is there a solution to this ?.
I did have a trial version of xilisoft ultimate converter which worked perfectly until the trial period finished so I know its not my computer.
Worse still ...no refund is given.
Any replies greatly received.

My System

Where did you purchase the program from ? Are you sure you bought the latest version ?

Uninstall all the third party codecs (divx, xvid, codec packs, ...) and media players you have installed. Uninstall all the programs you installed from cucusoft's website and uninstall cucusoft. Restart the computer, reinstall cucusoft, install the k-lite codec pack (standard version with ffdshow) and see how it goes.

The codecs available on cucusoft's codec page are all outdated.

Thanks for the reply

I bought it from Regnow Inc.
This morning I received an email from cucusoft to say my account has been activated.
So that must be correct version.
I have had to do a system restore which has sorted the k-lite problem out.
There is a link to cucusoft website for downloading the converter but now after all the problems this has caused on my PC I am a bit wary to download it again.
I have removed the version I had and hopefully all problems are solved.
I did download codex from their website and it was probably this that caused the problems.
But I had the ........(encountered a problem and needs to shut down) before I downloaded the codex.
