Hey guys,
I am hoping you can help me out -
I just recently (around 6 months ago) bought an Intel Quad Core PC (2.4Ghz) with 3GB of Ram. It is running XP pro - and was running great until the other week.
I use my PC for Computer Music production (Cubase SX3), so need all the processor power I can get to run all the different VSTi's.
I had a problem with the PC re booting and crashing - and think I pinned it down to a Trojan Horse dropper that I had inadvertently downloaded (it was picked up by AVG but wouldnt let me delete it).
Anyway - I think I got rid of it, as it doesnt show up on any scans anymore - But since then my computer runs like a relic.
I cant even run 1 VST - never mind 20 like I used to do - the strange thing is, that when I check my processor being used - it is reading less than 10% - and there are no other programs running (could it be my sound driver?)
I have tried registry fixes, and a system restore - but still the same.
I am hoping I dont have to do a full re-install -as I have built up a large number of software for Cubase which I could end up losing.
Please help!?
