I'm updating to the Amazon 3.11 Bios for HP Pavilion 7955. I create a boot disk with the changes on it and reboot. It's supposed to give me an option of "minimal boot" according to the instructions, but just goes straight to the A;> prompt. Then when I type in BIOSupdt it appears to run but aborts with the error message "cannot find BIOS's hook" I can't find anything about this error message anywhere.
I think you've missed something in the update instructions. Rather than just tell you what it is, I want you to go back through those instructions until you understand them thoroughly, step by step. A bios flash must be done correctly or you can turn a useful and working computer into a complete boat anchor. The Bios flash is an easy process, but also very exact. I would also advise against using any of the windows O/S Bios utilities for this process. Post again if you still have ????'s
