Guys,
I am a technical support technician and wanted to ask for some advice if you wouldn't mind. We are running a virtual environment in our office with WinXP as our OS. There is a problem i have seen with our users where they will do something wrong/weird when trying to set Adobe 9/7 Pro as their default reader via open with > selecting Adobe 9 Pro.exe and this would occossionally result in the icon changing into something like a window with a white background in the center causing the user not being able to set it as a default, hopefully some of you have seen this.
What i have tried to do is delete the thinapp and gone to where we have our Adobe Products and attempted to click the icon and set as default in the hope that the icon changes back to it's normal state but no luck. Another thing i've tried to do is go to regedit > openwith > .pdf and see what is the default but nothing is shown with a value(sometimes). The easiest and quickest way to resolve this is to refresh the VDI or recompose it. If i add desktop icon to the desktop and ask the user to open the pdfs directly from Adobe Pro this does work. However, i would like to know from you guys if you have had any similar experiences and what you have done to try to resolve this type of issue.
Your advice would be appreciated.
