Here's the problem: What was on the left is now in the middle and what was in the middle is now on the left.

How do I put these things back where they belong? Vertical bar cannot be deleted for instance and you cannot drag and drop these panes from one position to another nor can you delete and start over. I get a wrist cramp trying to straighten these things out.

Last: is there a way to lock the thing so it stays in just a single row?

thanks for your patience with this.

This stupid error message keeps showing up every time I try to delete a file on Windows 2k Pro...

I moved it to my C: folder because I thought the name might be too long or whatever... It's still not deleting.

It's not in use either, because it's a .pdf file...

*sighs*

Here's the name, if the name might help you judge why.

I know it's a long name, but that's why I put it into C: :P

The Prokaryotes - A Handbook on the Biology of Bacteria 3rd Ed. [Vol. 1], M Dworkin, et al., (Springer 2006) WW.pdf

Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

Thanks a lot :)

Hi,

I've been looking for a solution to my DNS problem but I haven't been able to fix it and I was wondering if anyone could point me in a right direction.

My PC is running on W2K sp4 and I can ping IP address and I can surf using either IE or firefox by just entering IP address. That means I have internet connection but somehow DNS is not resolved. I tried the following but did not fix the problem.

netsh <enter>
Interface reset all
routing reset all
routing
dump
bye
exit

I have entered the opensource DNS address manually in the LAN connection properties and my ISP support checked settings on browsers and everything seems to be as it should be.

I am posting this using my laptop which is also connected to my netgear router so it just my PC which doesn't seem to be able to resolve DNS. I run virus and malware check and nothing came up. What can I do to fix this problem?
I would be very grateful if anyone could supply the relevent lines of code as they are beyond me. I want to know the date and time someone has opened a data file. The data file might be on a floppy/ memory stick

Thank you

Hello,

We have a computer which runs a 'core' piece of equipment (i.e. many users). Unfortunately, someone has brought in a virus on their USB stick (a mactintosh user who is not affected - same problem for us several times).

The virus is preventing our anti-virus software from running (Sophos) and won't allow access to any anti-virus websites, nor can we install anti-virus software downloaded elsewhere and transferred by USB.

I saw a previous fix for this problem for an XP user (Nov2008), but wasn't sure if it would be the same for win2000?

Thanks in advance for thinking about this problem.
