JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Blessed with a Friday off school, 15-year-old Alyssa Bustamante dug two holes in the ground to be used as a grave, authorities said. For the next week, she attended classes, all the while plotting the right time for a murder, they said.

That time arrived the evening of Oct. 21, when Bustamante strangled 9-year-old neighbor Elizabeth Olten without provocation, cut the girl's throat and stabbed her, prosecutors said. Why?

"Ultimately, she stated she wanted to know what it felt like," Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. David Rice testified Wednesday during a court hearing over the slaying.

Rice, who interviewed Bustamante in the days after Elizabeth's disappearance, said she confessed to investigators and led them to the fourth grader's well-concealed body in a wooded area near their neighborhood in St. Martins, a small town west of Jefferson City.
it's hard to tell from the video thats on the web, but it looks like a dedicated server for the PC. it's really sad that it had to come to this...or is it. is this what it takes for PC users to really get what they want, or was it built into the game the whole time just waiting to be plucked into play.

Now there's talk that the DLC to be named and released later is already present and can be enabled via the console (like different game modes, maps, perks).

HEY IW, this is what you get when you piss off a few million people....take notice.... the PC gamers and Pros will be heard.

Paul Clarke, 27, was found guilty of possessing a firearm at Guildford Crown Court on Tuesday – after finding the gun and handing it personally to police officers on March 20 this year.

The jury took 20 minutes to make its conviction, and Mr Clarke now faces a minimum of five year's imprisonment for handing in the weapon.

In a statement read out in court, Mr Clarke said: "I didn't think for one moment I would be arrested.

"I thought it was my duty to hand it in and get it off the streets."

Got to love those unions. Always looking out for people.

In pursuit of an Eagle Scout badge, Kevin Anderson, 17, has toiled for more than 200 hours hours over several weeks to clear a walking path in an east Allentown park.

Little did the do-gooder know that his altruistic act would put him in the cross hairs of the city's largest municipal union.

Nick Balzano, president of the local Service Employees International Union, told Allentown City Council Tuesday that the union is considering filing a grievance against the city for allowing Anderson to clear a 1,000-foot walking and biking path at Kimmets Lock Park.

"We'll be looking into the Cub Scout or Boy Scout who did the trails," Balzano told the council.

Balzano said Saturday he isn't targeting Boy Scouts. But given the city's decision in July to lay off 39 SEIU members, Balzano said "there's to be no volunteers." No one except union members may pick up a hoe or shovel, plant a flower or clear a walking path.

"We would hope that the well-intentioned efforts of an Eagle Scout candidate would not be challenged by the union," said Mayor Ed Pawlowski in an e-mail Friday. "This young man is performing a great service to the community. His efforts should be recognized as such."

MEN are quicker to declare their love to their partner than women, according to a survey carried out for The Sunday Telegraph.
It is a cliché of romance - that men find it hardest to blurt out those three crucial words: “I love you”. But while men take an average of seven months to tell a new partner that they love them, women take almost eight months, according to the survey conducted for Stella magazine.
The study, which exposes several myths surrounding relationships, also found that the over 55s are the most active - and experimental - of all age groups, when it comes to dating.
Stella commissioned YouGov to interview almost 2,000 men and women of all ages and backgrounds who have been on a date in the past year.
Jenni Trent Hughes, a relationship counsellor, said the results contradicted many popular views on dating, as well as some of the stereotypes of the differences between the two sexes.
“Although women do tend to wear their heart on their sleeves more than men do, men are just as emotional and sensitive - sometimes even more so,” she added.
Oliver James, the clinical psychologist and author, said the findings supported other studies that showed that men fall in love more frequently than women. “This is because women mature sooner than men and develop to be more hard-nosed, realistic and in touch with their emotions,” he added.
“So when a man says ‘I love you’ it might be his way of dealing with a lot of complex, difficult emotions that he doesn’t really understand, whereas when a woman says it, it might carry a greater weight. The classic cliche is that men use love to get personal relation and women use relations to get love.”

Woke up with no electricity due to power outage. That meant no coffee or computer. Cooking anything was also out of the question....couldn't even nuke something in the microwave.

I grabbed the radio for entertainment and relaxed with the Sunday crossword while drinking the kid's Mountain Dew for the caffeine content.

Finished the crossword and decided to let the dogs outside for whatever reason they need. I stepped outside with them and pulled the door shut due to chilly temperatures. I'm sure you will guess what came next.... I accidently bumped the button that locks the door:eek: There I am in slippers and pajama bottoms with no shirt and no way to unlock the door. Any useful tool is locked in my van..... no cel phone to call the kids to let me in (they were asleep anyways and would not have heard the phone).

Luck was with me.... I exited the backyard and when I rounded the corner of my garage I notice my coach lights were on. In the short time it took for me to lock myself out the power had been restored. I now had the tool I needed..... I rang the bejeebers out of the doorbell until I was greeted by two sleepy-eyed sons who were not amused. All I could say was "sorry, but thanks".

I'm still chuckling.

This forum seems to be full of pretty clever people. I'm studying for a test, and part of that test is abstract thinking, where you have to pick the next diagram of the sequence. I was having trouble with some of the sequences, and was wondering if anyone on the board would be willing to have a stab at it. The sequences are at:

http://picasaweb.google.com/fluffy.t...tiveReasoning#

My attempts below (spoiler alert):

1. The number of lines goes 2,3,4,2,3, and the side on which they're on keeps swapping, so I'm guessing that the next sequence is with four lines in the top left corner... A

2. Notice that the 1st and 3rd match roughly, in that the colouring of the shapes is the same, and the types of shapes above the line is the same. This goes wtih the 2nd & 4th. This narrows it down to C&D. Since all others only have one coloured shape, then I pick C. I'm not sure about the position of the shapes above the line though.

3. Sequence goes: up/down/down exploded arrow head/down/up.... i'm guessing the next one is going to be an exploded arrow head pointing upwards, E

4. The third diagram is made up of the previous two diagrams... the triangle goes to the opposite corner and the circle stays on the bottom in the third diagram. Apply these rules I get B

5. Wasn't too sure about this one. The horizontal line always intersects at the point of intersection of the other two lines. You can see that the width of the black areas increases from 1->2 & 3->4... which implies a change of width. Also the orientation of the bow tie is consisten between 1&2 and 3&4, so I'm guessing E, because the orientation remains the same, and the width decreases.

6. The white dot rotates clockwise, and the number of black dots goes from 1-2-3-2-1. This implies C or D, but because the number of black dots always changes by 1, I chose C.

7. The sequence of the orientation of the arrow and the colouring implies a downward pointing black arrow. Not sure about the number of black dots though.. I doubt the number of dots remains the same, so A or C?

8. No idea about this one :)
