Me and a group of friends like to play sins of a solar empire with the hamachi vpn software over lan. we had it properly set up and enjoyed many games together, all problem free.

one weekend, i left the computer running and when i returned sunday, i installed teamviewer so i could access my remote server back home. I'm pretty sure i checked the install teamviewer vpn during installation.

thats when the **** hit the fan. the next time we went to play a game of sins, we were able to connect to the game lobby just fine. however, after loading the game, it was frozen in its lag state, and it told me my 2 other friends were lagging.. the same 2 people were reported lagging on everyones computers. we tried every combination of people disconnecting to see who it was, and i ended up being the lucky one; the game would unfreeze for my two friends if i disconnected, but it would not freeze for me and another if the other friend disconnected

i have tried every option short of system restore (i think disk cleanup got to those restore points) and reformatting... ive uninstalled and reinstalled hamachi several times, uninstalled and reinstalled teamviewer without vpn several times, uninstalled and reinstalled my network drivers. no matter what, it always happens like that

i do know the problem only resides in sins. we tried warcraft 3 and that worked like a charm

so while im uninstalling and reinstalling sins, can anyone give any other suggestions how i can fix my problem?

thanks in advance

I've been having connection problems for almost a year now and everything I try doesn't seem to work or even help the problem at all. I have a Linksys model WGC200 router/modem. It also says that it is Wireless-G Cable Gateway on there so I hope that helps. I play on Xbox Live and I have problems either joining or staying connected to games online. For example if I'm playing Rock Band online, sometimes in the middle of a song my screen will just go to the loading screen and just say the leader has left, but when I look at my Xbox live friends list, none of them have gamer pictures and none have a gamer score. This is how I know I have lagged out. Another example would be if I'm playing COD 4 and all the sudden I will start lagging around and that ethernet cable symbol will show up saying connection interrupted. So if I go back to the lobby and try to join a game it won't let me join and just sign me out of Xbox Live. If I look at my friends list it is the same as I had mentioned with Rock Band. Recently I have gotten MW2 and it has been just horrible. I will join a game once in a rare while, but as soon as the host leaves I just get kicked out. Then sometimes I will just sit in the lobby as it endlessly searches for a game then it will just kick me off Xbox Live. If I try to log back on to Live the screen freezes and I have to turn off my console. At first I tried sling links which were horrible, then I thought maybe a wireless network adapter would help. When that produced the same result I said that's it and hooked an ethernet cable into my router/modem and then hooked directly into the back of my Xbox and that just seems to have made it worse. Now in MW2 it just says there isn't anybody even in the playlists and I can join a session in progress, but after the match is over I just get booted. Please I'm running out of ideas and have already spent so much money trying to correct this. If anybody knows anything please let me know.

Thanks

Ive opened TCP 3074, 5223 and UDP 3478, 3479, 3074 and 3075 and PFPort checker confirms they are open.
The problem is ports TCP80 and TCP443.
My router says they are in use for HTP and HTTP, so i cannot add a 'service' for these ports.
If i check these with PFPort checker, they are not open.
Firstly, do both TCP and UDP ports need to be opened to host?
And if TCP80 and 443 are used for HTTP, shouldnt they be open?
Ohhhh im confused.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a belkin wireless usb stick that was the "Top notch" wireless item when I bought it, and it should be able to play games fine without these problems.
Any ideas?

I also experience some graphics lag when I'm in crowded areas in the game. Java.exe usually takes up 70-80% CPU when Idle during the game and jumps up to 90-99% when I'm around a lot of people. I usually have 30-35 processes running at a time and most of them are vital ones. The graphic settings are set to the minimum as well. Are there anyways I can get rid of the choppy graphics lag without having to buying a new cpu?

Yeah well the situation is like this, I bought a new computer few days ago and its Windows 7 and I have some huge problems with my Ventrilo, everytime that I'm on vent and talking with my friends I can see that they are talking because the microphone is green in ventrilo but I dont hear anything, and like 1minute after I can hear what they said back when i first saw that they were saying something, anyone else experienced this delay and know how to fix it?

I tried to start the program as administrator but nothing changed...

Maybe its any settings I have to change somewhere?

Thankful for any help!
I have gone to so many sites to try and change my NAT for my xbox, but I must have a complicated modem or something because even when i go to my router page to open my ports, it is too difficult:upset:. My step mom works from home but for a hospital that provides our internet service so she can type for them. could the security for them have something to do with my NAT problems? I have a motorola SBG900 modem. i know the password and stuff and my ip address, could someone please give me dumbed-down, simple-termed, step-by-step instructions on how to go about doing this? :sigh: Thanks soo much!!!
