After using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to get rid of two malwares, "System Defender" and "Antivirus Plus," my system has a few problems, including:

- Windows setup claiming there are no hard drives connected, when using my Windows XP CD to boot (despite the fact that I can start the computer as normal when booting normally, using the hard drives it claims to not detect)
- Random restarts
- Seem to be connected to the internet but no applications can connect, as if I'm not connected

What can I do? Is there a fix to problems such malware may have left that cause such things?

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and AVG both show that there are 0 infections found. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware does, however, tell me, every 10 minutes or so, that it has successfully blocked access to malicious IPs, as if the previous malwares are always still trying to infect me, despite seemingly being gone.

I am currently working on being as anonymous as possible while i am on the net cuz as soon as i connect i see way to many ip's trying to connect to me...
Would you recommend something to be anonymous while online other then a vpn ?
I know i could use proxies but nowadays no one really knows if the proxy is safe or not, rumors has it hacker are creating them to get info out of you.
is there anything you would recommend to do for best security and staying as anonymous as possible ?
Also is there any way i could hide my real ip as in the local ip 192......... ?
there is too much info given out every time i visit a website.

I have a weird problem that I cannot figure out.

I've been having **UDP FLOODS** in my belkin router security log that have been pinging all three of my computers (2 laptops, 1 desktop).

They seemed to be taking up a bit of my bandwidth and slowing down my connection speed (I have 20mbps through cox communications).

I've tried everything to block this pings, I blocked the UDP ports that were getting pinged on my router, nothing(still getting floods).

I've made sure that my router's firewall was blocking DoS pings(those icmp i believe). Nothing.

I've checked windows firewall and made sure it was setup correctly. Still got pinged.

I've checked for viruses and spyware. Nothing.

I re-formatted and restored my windows xp laptop, still got pinged.

The **UDP FLOODS** on the log started to turn into **SMURF FLOODS** then I started to get nonstop **SYN FLOODS** and I started to lose my connection to the internet.

I got fed up and couldn't understand why it was still flooding with all the right moves made. So I decided to get a new IP address from my ISP.

I unplugged the modem and router for 24 hours until the lease was up and plugged it in. I recieved a new ip address, and so far didn't recieve pings. Then about 10 minutes in, we started to get the regular **UDP FLOODS* again but no signs of those dreadful SYN FLOODS that disconnected me.

What do I do? I am getting tired and I am afraid that my UDP FLOOD problem will start to turn into SYN FLOODS and start to disconnect me again.

When trying to check my Gmail, I get:

______________________________________________
This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to www.google.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to
this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is
trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

Technical Details

www.google.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed.
The certificate is only valid for google.com
(Error code: sec_error_untrusted_issuer)

I Understand the Risks

If you understand what's going on, you
can tell Firefox to start trusting this site's identification.
Even if you trust the site, this error could mean that someone is
tampering with your connection.

Don't add an exception unless
you know there's a good reason why this site doesn't use trusted identification.
______________________________________________

And it's NOT because of my system time, which is set perfectly accurately. (the usual cause of the problem when Googling this issue)

Over the past two days i have been trying to configure a VNC on my home computer.

Over the past two days i have been trying to configure a VNC on my home computer.

I have two computers (a laptop and a desktop) both running Windows XP, networked wirelessly, and connected to the internet through a router. Desktop has a static IP and laptop is assigned DHCP.

On the desktop i have installed and configured UltraVNC, using ports 5900 and 5800. I have configured the router to forward these ports to my desktops static IP and a check of gotomyvnc shows that it is forwarding correctly.

So here commences the problem. I have setup the UltraVNC viewer on my laptop computer, and typed in my external ip address as recieved from whatismyip allong with "::5900" for the port number and i continue time after time to recieve the error Failed to connect.

So then i thought i would download one of the free apps to my iphone called Mocha VNC lite which lets you look at a VNC. At first it was connected to my home network wirelessly and it failed to connect once again. THEN, i thought i would connect my iphone through 3g (in order to optain a different IP address) and low and behold it worked and i could connect to the VNC setup on my home desktop!

So, is the reason my laptop cannot connect to the VNC because it obviously has the same external IP (being through the router). Because, i should point out that i can connect fine to the vnc from the laptop by using the local ip address (192.168.etc).

At this point i should note that i have not tried to connect to the VNC from a computer on a different network - that is my next port of call.

Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I need some help on clearing a virus/spyware/mal-ware.

My laptop kept displaying a Logonui.exe application error each time I logged into my Windows. After repetitive of clicking yes, it finally allowed me to login. However, another error message from the Data Execution Prevention saying "To protect your computer, Windows has closed this program - Userinit Logon Application" and after which display a userinit.exe application error. There are nothing on my desktop screen.

I had to go to the Windows Task Manager and under File -> New Tast (Run) -> explorer.exe to access my desktop. After which it will show another error message from Data Execution Prevention saying "To protect your computer, Windows has closed this program -Windows Task Manager" and show another taskmgr.exe application error.

I have run ad-aware, spybot, registry fix, avast! but they are unable to solve the problems. Now, all my .exe files are all missing and do not look correct to me.

Can anyone help me in this? Any help is deeply appreciated.

Hi,

I have a Home Broadband Belkin Modem Router F5D8233-4 along with 1 desktop and 2 laptops all running Vista HP sp2.
We need to restrict our Sons network access on weekdays between 11.00pm - 8.00am Sunday through to Thursday.
However the Client IP filters page in the Web software, (see attached pic),
all throw up duplicate error messages when I try to apply?
Am I doing something so stoopid I'm gonna be ashamed of the tons of answers heading my way or do I need to get some other software like Network Magic?
The limited helpfile on the Belkin Modem, (see below), seems to suggest I can set multiple times.

Client IP filters
The Router can be configured to restrict access to the Internet, e-mail or other network services at specific days and times. Restriction can be set for a single computer, a range of computers, or multiple computers. To restrict Internet access to a single computer for example, enter the IP address of the computer you wish to restrict access to in the IP fields. Next enter 80 and 80 in the Port fields. Select TCP. Select Block. You can also select Always to block access all of the time. Select the day to start on top, the time to start on top, the day to end on the bottom and the time to stop on the bottom. Click "Apply Changes". The computer at the IP address you specified will now be blocked from Internet access at the times you specified. Note: be sure you have selected the correct time zone under Utilities> System Settings> Time Zone.

Please help and dont hold back if I am stoopid :danrakbrow:
