Hey all,

I'm currently working on a case study for my Router Protocols course that I'm currently enrolled in. This case study involves setting up a network, with 3 different routing protocols.

I'm currently trying to implement EIGRP. I use the "router eigrp 1" cmd. Router 2 has a total of 6 loopback networks that need to propagate over to Router1 (which is then connected to the ISP.) Here is a list of the loopback networks:

172.16.0.0
172.16.1.0
172.16.2.0
172.16.3.0
192.168.4.0
192.168.5.0

I'm able to have all of the above mentioned networks propagate, IF I enter them all individually. My problem, is that I know these can be summarized, but my summarized networks will not propagate for some reason. I do not know why I can no get it to work???

I do have a theory, maybe somebody can tell me if I'm right or not? This case study is done using the Packet Tracer program. We are also required to use a 2600 series router for R1 and a 2800 series router for R2. I'm assuming it won't work because they are different routers?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Adam

We are small comapny, but are looking to expand our in house hosting. Currently we have an Exchange Server behind a Baracuda SPAM&Virus Firewall. We have a Linksys WRT54G and use "Port Range Forward" to forward ports: 21, 25 (to the Barracuda), 80, 1433 for SQL to the server.

Here is my question: this server is being used for Exchange (with Blackberry server) and we want to add a second server to our network to host our company's e-commerce website (keep website hosting and Exchange/Blackberry seperate). How do we setup the router to be able to access both servers on port 80 etc? Port 80 is needed for Exchange Server as well as SQL etc.

Are we in need of a better (commercial type e.g. Cisco?) type of router? Obviously there is a way to have multiple servers with one internet connection - like a datacenter, but we have no clue how to set this up. All help appreciated.

(Side note: both servers are running Windows Server 2003)

Every time I boot up my laptop, I have to run to the other computer and reboot the router before I can connect to the internet. My laptop can detect the other network, but before I reboot, it says my network card doesn't meet the network's requirements. The three-year-old desktop hardwired to the router I use for administration purposes doesn't have these problems.

Other info:
-Distance between router and laptop is about fifty feet, tops. Laptop and router are on same level of the house.
-There are two walls between the router and laptop, and a cordless phone close to the router.
-My area has been hit by heavy storms the past couple of days--since about when my problems started.

Is it a weather issue, or is there something I need to fix here?

I have a problem when I'm playing a specific game, however I don't think the problem is game related, so I'm posting it here.

What I experience is lag spikes which take usually between 5 seconds up to a whole minute. This would seem to be a dead hop along the way or something like that, I've had this problem before and my ISP was able to fix it for me with a ping plotter image showing the slow hops and them avoiding it.
However my current ISP doesn't provide this service for me.

Still, the problem appears to be more global, if I ping
gmail.com, I get the ping allright, 0% packet loss.
However if I trace route it, it will show XX hops as "Request timed out"
and only the final hop as one that reaches destination.. It does this
to all servers.
Can also see this in ping plotter, 12 hops to gmail show 100% packet loss,
and only the finl hop shows 108 ping. I know that only the last hop should
matter, but I should be able to see the hops in the middle, at least so I
can know where the problem is.

I am connected through lan to a wireless router, connected to a DSL with 1.5MB connection. Speed tests are fine, the problem is that the connections aren't fluent.

Tried to upload an image but now google docs is won't let me upload a 100k image to it...

Hopeless

I don't have enuf space to post all those @_@

So I figured that its just poor formatting, it could be three address just clumped together so I tried entering
208.77.0.11
207.200.7.2
64.59.135.143
When I tried to setup virtual server with the informations in ipconfig, everything SEEMS to go down smoothly, but port testing came back to be negative
I'll post my IPconfig
