Explain Please
Can someone explain what this statement means please?
It is a message board the xxxx has broken another bandwidth record today: sustained aggregate output exceeding 1Mbit for over 30 minutes. We have occasionally hit the 1Mbit mark for short periods of time, but never for so long. |

It means that the server was serving 1 megabit of data a second for over 30 minutes. That's 1/8th of a megabyte a second. If a site is serving up 1/8th of a meg of data a second, it usually means its a pretty popular site, and thus the amount of data being served can serve as an estimate of the sites popularity.
The reason it says aggregate is that the server most likely has a connection greater than 1megabit, but if you take the total data transferred over the total time, you can get 1 megabit continuous speed.
