self hosting php?

this seems like the right place to post, forgive me if its not!

what id like to do, is run a php form action my own computer.

you know in a form in the top line it says

action="http://www.form.com/formurl.php"

i dont know any good free php hosts (you could shut me up right here by suggesting some) so would it be possible for me to install apache and php and in the 'action' part of the form, link to the php file thats on my computer? if you get me, is that possible?

also if that is possible, can you give me some links to download what id need to host the php file

There's a free host that has PHP support here. I've used them before. They are ad based, but its free, what are you gonna do?

Anyway, if you'd rather DIY, my FAQ a few posts up tells you how to install Apache/PHP here.

I've used EasyPHP with great success. It's simple to install and configure. It also works as a mini Apache server.
