Hi guys. It may sound silly and it is but I am just wandering wheter it is possible to open a flash MX 2004 in a flahs MX. I mean If i have flash MX am i available to open a file from the 2004 's version?
Well silly question but id better ask. |

Yep
As they are both .fla extensions I should see why not it should work. Although some features might not show up etc.
Its the same if you open a file from Microsoft Office XP in Office 98. It'll open but some features from your project might not be correctly viewed, therefore you'd have to resize etc. I hope this helps

In order to open a Flash MX 2004 file in Flash MX u need to save the .fla as a Flash MX file, as opposed to the default Flash MX 2004 file (they both have the same extension so this prob sounds alittle weird). You can change the filetype in the Save As menu. Just change the "Save as type" menu to "Flash MX Document".
Note: You would lose all Flash MX 2004 features within that file (eg.. actionscript 2.0) So it would be smart to keep a MX 2004 copy |
