2-week problem with website - no answers!

I'm hoping that someone might be able to help me as I'm close to despair! For 2 weeks now I have been getting emails from regular visitors telling me that my site is down. When I first checked I found it "up" but incredibly slow, and began to take the code off it, bit by bit, in an effort to identify the problem. When pretty much all the code and most of the ads were off the site, it started to fly for me.

But the messages keep coming in. There appears to be no ONE geographical area (I have had emails from South Africa, Italy, UK, Brazil etc). Although I have been running the site for 9 years I am no techie, so I have had long conversations with the people who manage my dedicated server, and they can't find a problem. I can see the site fine (UK), and they can see the site fine (US) so they say there isn't an issue. I have checked through various proxy sites and can also see the site fine. I have asked a few people to do traceroutes, at the suggestion of someone at the server company, and there isn't an obvious problem there either.

My traffic has fallen dramatically - down to about 50% of what I would expect at this time of year, and my income has dropped by more than half because I have taken most of the ads off the site to get it running fast! I am absolutely at my wit's end now and just don't know what to do or try next. I would be very grateful for any suggestions of help.

How you got a URL so we can have a check?

Sounds very much user based if they cant access your site from specific countries. But it does seem very strange for it to drop just like that.
