Hello, i have a problem at work i should take over maintaining of the company's website which was made by a developing company for creating and maintaining websites , i'm not sure what i should ask about as they have all the data and i got nothing , the website is made by PHP and flash , but my question is : do i need to have a web server to maintain the website , and what should i do to make the website use and maintained from another location ? , thanx

Unless you are willing to host a server yourself (or pay to have this done elsewhere)
Unless the company is willing to keep hosting your website but "surrender the files" (to you) to fully maintain it. But you will need to ask them. The alternative way of maintaining a site, is using whatever kind of webdesign software you have (i.e. Dreamweaver) to make any changes through with it, but send the updates to their server techs to put up for you. This is the method I have had to use in my situation. "....maintained from another location?". You asking about "mirroring"?. |

thnx plenty for the reply , i've sent the questions first and still waiting for an answer from the admin , till then i guess it's just working under their admin responsibility , so i'm waiting to know so i can see what to do then , thnx again for answering my questions
