Hiijacking my site ! Help !
Here is my situation, I already have a site up under a specific domain name, through a hosting company that is run by the original web designer, however, the guy has not been responding to my emails for the last month and I have no way of reaching him...
I am fed up with this so I want to repoint that domain to another hosting company and rebuild a totally new design for the site , but keep approx 90% of the same text as the original site...( i have accsess to the domain registration account so pointing to a new server is not a problem) my question is , how will this affect my current rankings with Google, and other search engines? Will this make a big difference on how the site is indexed ?...Will I end up creating 'duplicate content' with the search engines ? I have never attempted to "hiijack" my own site.. is there is anyone who has done this sort of thing before ? I would really appreciate some feedback..... thanks ! |

Re: Hiijacking my site ! Help !
You would essentially be starting all over with your search engine optimisation and "rankings".
If you have access to the domain, as you say you do, then you are not "hijacking" your site, you are merely changing hosts. This is a perfectly legal operation. As you are no doubt aware, TSF will not assist you in any illegal endeavours. We will not help you take over a domain that is controlled by another person or company.

Re: Hiijacking my site ! Help !
Did you intend to keep the same domain name? Or were you thinking of getting a new domain name and just "pointing" your old one to it?
You may or may not lose your rankings, depending on the extent of changes you will be making compared to the old design (if you stick with the same name) |
