web server help

im trying to set up my first web server and have been looking for help everywhere. im using appserv and no-ip.com for my programs and services. i have a host name "shade0017.no-ip.org" and are having trouble getting my freinds to access my test file. i have my router configured to port 80 to my computers personal ip address. i had windows firewall set to let port 80 through but i turned it off incase it is still blocking it. http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i221/TrappedInside017/portforwarding1.jpg]Pic 1 also when i type in "http:localhost/test.txt" i get the file. any help would be great.

Try clicking on the DMZ link. Make sure that the default DMZ server is set to your machine's local IP address. Also, if you have the option, let your computer respond to internet pings.

Turn off the firewall in Windows, it'll conflict with the one your router has. Try using your external IP address to access the webserver.

i have my firewall off and i can access it through my ip address and the host im using but my freinds can't. also idk what a "DMZ Link" is.

ok did that still doesn't work. my freind has tried http://Shade0017.no-ip.org\test.txt on firefox and IE.

1 Problem is the backslash. Anoter one is the slash at the end.

Tell them to try this: http://shade0017.no-ip.org/test.txt

Maybe it's a problem with no-ip. Try giving your friend the link like this:
http://(YOUR IP HERE)/test.txt
If that doesn't work, try this:
http://(YOUR IP HERE):80/test.txt

If you need your ip, go to http://www.whatismyip.com
