is this switch possible?
Is it possible to switch my forum from a free site like forumer.com to my friends server and keep all the posts and users intact. The one on forumer is a phbb.

@ bmor: well it depends on how the current forum hoster will react. You need to ask them if they can send you the database file(s) with the messages for example. Do not be surprised if this is not possible or that you will have to pay money for this.
Next to that, it also depends which forum software you or your friend uses and if there is a converter that can convert the database files if needed. It might be possible, but it can cost you a lot of work... |

@ bmor: Sorry to hear that they make such a problem about it.
You can copy and paste all the messages to your new message board and make a redirect from the old one. But you will lose all the information about members... You'll have to decide what to do now. |
