bulk space or just setting up own hosting
dear friends,
i am new member and like lots of you full of questions, i have my own website but i have from my hosting provider only 20GB, now i like to find some provider that can give me bulk space (unlimited space) for a nice price. or even later on install my on hosting server. now my questions are 1) does somebody knows a cheap hosting provider 2) i need to know how to install my own hosting server and how much more or less would that cost me. thanks, David |

Hello computer zoro! Welcome to TSF!
GoDaddy has some very nice hosting plans for extremely low prices. You can get your own server, but they are very expensive. They are called dedicated servers. Depending on their specs and who you rent it from, they could cost anywhere from $80 - $300 a month. As far as unlimited space goes, no company can provide unlimited or unmetered space. Every host runs off of a main computer. This main computer can only hold so much space. If a company claims to provide unlimited disk space, they are trying to scam you out of your money. Good luck.

To answer you question about installing your own hosting. www.apache2triad.com did a nice job putting together all the tools needed in a nice, easy to install package. However most internet providers only allow you a small amount of bandwith, after that amount is used, you will get charged money for any extra bandwith your site would bring in.

I use apache2triad on my home webserver. My ISP limits my speed, but doesn't limit my total bandwidth. Dreamhost.com has some cheap and plentiful packages available.
