Adding/Deleting Entries via PHP
Hello - I'm not too familiar with server side scripting but I'm dabbling in PHP and have a question:
How can I create a PHP driven "admin" page that would allow the site owner to add or delete events to a page on a website. e.g. A band website that has a "news.htm" page where the band members can visit a separate password protected page and add events dynamically to the news.htm page; (without manually editing an html file). Any ideas? I'd prefer to use PHP considering that's what I'm trying to learn right now. |

Well first off the page will have to be named with a .php extension not .htm. The stuff for dynamcilly editng/deleting can easily be done -- this is what php was made for.
Now when you say w/o a database I belive you mean a mysql database. You can do this with a flat file/.txt file database its just more work. I would recommend using mysql if you are learning as it will be a good experience. But if there host doesnt have it then just use a .txt filef or the database and it will work fine.
