Tech Needing Help
I cannot get other to view my own website from my Apache 2.0.54 server. I have gotten it to work because I can access it but others can't. I just recently added a host to it, to see if that would work but still no luck.
I have not set the webpage up yet but I have installed MySQL and PHP and they're working fine. I have tried changing the port to another number and still no luck. I have no firewall blocking port 80 or any other one. I have a dynamic connection, would that be altering the viewing process somehow? Any Ideas of how I could fix my problem would be greatly aprreciated My Website is http://www.grove.ath.cx/ Thanking you in Advance, Grove

A dynamic address could quite possibly be hindering your hosting experience...
There should be an update program (it looks like you're using dyndns.org, if so it can be found HERE) that will automatically update your IP with the DYNDNS.org servers when your IP changes. Also, what webserver are you using? and if you're behind a router do you have port 80 forwarded to your computer?

Thanks for quick reply elf
Yes I use DYNDNS.org and yeah I use that update client. Sorry, I though I mentioned this. I use Apache 2.0.54 with PHP and MySQL (Latest Version) Nope don't have a router as far as I am aware of. I've tried Port 90 and other ports but still no luck

I've never had to host with a dynamic IP, so I know nothing about making that run smoothly. Can your outside users access the site by IP at all?
I'd have suggested checking permissions in httpd.conf, but it doesn't look like we're hitting the server in the first place. Have you tried the Apache mailing lists/newsgroups? I've found them to be helpful. Tina

I believe the problem stems from the fact that he is hosting off a dialup connection.
