Hey all,
I've been having problems with my ftp lately and I have no clue what's going on. I have my own personal domain and such and have friends hosted and whatnot. Well the other day I went to update one of my join-sites I have with a friend of mine and my ftp wouldn't connect to my domain. I checked my site and it's all up and running, so it's not that my server is down or anything like that. I tried getting into other places that I have ftp access to (angelfire.com, etc..) and I can't connect to those either. I talked to one of my other hostee's and they can get into their directory just fine even though I can't. It's really bothering me as to what's going on and why I can't log in. When I -do- try and login, I get some odd error: ! Connection failed blahblah.com - connection refused I get this every time I login and it's starting to frustrate me. Also, I was using WS_FTP LE at the time, but I've since uninstalled/reinstalled thinking there might be some problem with that and still no luck. So I've uninstalled it completely, so I have no ftp program as of right now. I also tried getting in through the browser ftp thing and even -that- won't work for me. Any help, tips or info would be greatly appreciated. I really don't know what to do about this problem and nothing I do seems to help. Oh and if it helps any, I'm running Windows XP Home Edition. Thank you for your time. |

do you have some rotuer or firewall blocking outgoing ftp connections?
nmap the port to see if its open maybe for some reason the host has it closed. there was just a big released bug on proftpd so if they use that they may of took it down waiting for a fix.
