making a start...

Hi guys,

I am a fairly proficient xp user who can operate nearly all software i use (XP)
I have decided to start and try and build websites and think im gonna try and build one for the company i work for to begin with.(recruitment agency)

I am gonna go straight at Dreamweaver mx studio and give it a whack!
I have a few questions here:

1. What do i need to find out for publishing my website to the webspace we have via bt business?(im not sure of package yet
Our company already has a website up and runing but its crap. Would i need to find out from the last company that designed and uploaded their site details of domain name etc or what?
2. Is it legal to use other companies logos that we are affiliated with on the site legally, with their permission?
3. has anyone got some dreamweaver template links for good business example for possibly recruitment?

To be honest, i think Dreamweaver is rubbish. I simply use a text editor such as Notepad to create websites. I also use Flash for some content...

Answers to your Qs...

"Would i need to find out from the last company that designed and uploaded their site deatils of domain name etc or what?" - FIRST of all, you would need to ask someone (your boss) higher up - they to should have the details and yes you should notify the current webmaster of your plans. You need to find out the following also:

Hosting package
Disk usage
Disk space available
Bandwidth usage
Email accounts
FTP accounts

2. It is NOT illegal to use other companies logos that you are affiliated with on the site ONLY if you have their permission. Written permission. (via e-mail / letter).

3. I know this sounds silly but WHAT EXACTLY do you want the site to do...
