Post PHP + MySQL Upload Script Advance...

I was reading the tutorial here listed about how to upload data to my database.

I am dealing with huge files, 100's MBs or probabily dealing with GB's to i think that it will be more practicle to upload the file to the server, and reference it's link to the database to relief the server from all of the server side coding is involved.

Is there a method, process or code that could be added to do so?

Thank you in advance for the help.

Re: PHP + MySQL Upload Script Advance...

I've never dealt with uploading that large of a file to a database and I agree that it probably wouldn't be practical to do so.

Uploading a file to a server is pretty standard practice (more so than uploading to a database) and there are lots of tutorials out there. I think for what you want to do, standard HTML form upload won't be sufficient, as with that large of a file you'll REALLY want a resume feature. This would require FTP/SFTP functionality, which PHP does have included natively - but I've never used it. This little code snippet looks on the promising side and should get you going in the right direction:
