Orphaned Files Analysis Doesn't Work Properly
Short version:
Does anyone know of a program, for $ or free, that actually works? That can actually perform a complete and accurate orphan analysis even if conditional javascript statements contain links? I am using Web Link Validator, and it is giving me false positives. Long version: I am trying to run an orphaned files analysis, and I'm using a software that is not free that my company paid for... however, the orphaned file analysis doesn't work properly. Actually, first I tried to use one software that my company had, and it didn't work to find orphaned files because it couldn't read Javascript links... so they got me a new program. This one can read Javascript links, but it is still finding many files to be orphans that are not! I think the problem stems from the new program being able to read javascript, but it doesn't "try" to satisfy links within conditional statements. For example, if there is a form submit that sends you to one page if one radio button is selected but sends you to a different page when yet another radio button is selected, the orphan analysis only checks for the link if it is selected by default, and it ignores the other links, resulting in false positives for orphaned files. Does anyone know of a program, for $ or free, that actually works? That can actually perform a complete and accurate orphan analysis even if conditional javascript statements contain links? |
