Bacground colours in Dreamweaver 8

Hello, and thanks for your time. Ive recently started using DreamWeaver8,and while trying to insert a background colour from the page Im working in,(not the actual colour pallette) I dont seem to have that option. Just to clarify, I want to use a colour thats in an image in a page Im working on. When I move the cursor/eyedropper to the colour Im not able to select that colour, or any other on the page. Am I missing a setting here or something. Im in XP PRO, SP3. Thanks again, Techdunce

Re: Bacground colours in Dreamweaver 8

Hey, it won't let you do that, godknows why DW didn't implement this feature. So here's a basic way to do it:

- Download, install and open ColorPic
- In the "Chips" panel, click an unused chip (one that doesn't have grab written in it)
- Move your mouse to the color on the image in DW8
- Press [Ctrl]+G
- Select the chip in colorpic again and press copy next to the hexidecimal value ("FFFFFF" or similar)
- In DW, right click and select page properties.
- In the appearance section paste the copied value in the text box next to "background color"
- Press Apply, and you're done.

I know it's a long winded method but that's the one i use regularly when getting custom colors from an image.

Cheers,
Jamey
