I have been creating a Flash website. Up until now it has been playing back fine, using shift return. All of a sudden, it freezes up, or Flash CS3 stops working. I am able to play back a small movie clip if I create a new document, but I want to keep being able to play back my entire movie. It seems to be something to do with Flash Player, although I didn't change any settings before it started not working.
Please help, I can't do much without being able to play it back! |

Re: Flash play back error
Use Ctrl+Ret?
Or (And this is the one i prefer) just publish the movie and view it in an external viewer (i find that flash sometimes steals focus of the SWF player). Shift+F12 is Publish i believe. Sorry if this was no help. What is the filesize of your movie? (You might find that has an effect) Cheers, Jamey |

Thanks for the trying to help, but yes I was actually trying ctrl return not shift return. And it also happens when I try to publish. However, I've since discovered that the movie plays back fine on my laptop, but not on the desktop, so I think it might have something to do with Flash Player, even though I didn't change anything. I've tried reinstalling Flash player, with no change, and installing Flash Player 9. It's just really annoying!

Re: Flash play back error
Yeah, it does sound like a flash player problem. But i've found that Flash uses the flash player that was distributed with it(from installation files) so if you could find a way to use the latest flash player instead you might get somewhere.
Okay, is there any AS in your flash? actually what is the flash content? and does it happen when you use different flash files? (just incase it is the content). Cheers, Jamey |
