To get certified through w3schools.com?
I mean, I'm seriously considering it, if its all not a hoax. Opinions? and sorry if this isnt the right board, I figured my first certification would be HTML which is web design.

Re: Is it worth it?
Yes, most definitely. The W3Schools certification is a standard in the industry, don't let so-called "schools" tell you otherwise. I have the Web Developer Certificate (Excellency Degree), and I'm working on getting the JavaScript and PHP certificates. The only way I have gotten any of my last three jobs is with this piece of paper.
Be prepared to set down your Dreamweaver and continue your journey with nothing but Notepad (or other basic text editor) and your favourite web browser.

Re: Is it worth it?
thanks for this information, I might try it too. I started self taught with frontpage, moved onto teaching myself basic html, then last year learnt some more html and dreamweaver. Would like a career in web design but wasn't sure what qualifications to go for. I live in u.k and understand there is also a
ECDL qualification has anyone done it - and does it help with getting work? |
