Cry Not defaulting to index.html...HELP!

I created a website www.po-ka-dot.com and am hosting my service through www.bluehost.com.
The problem is that whenever I type in my domain name it defaults to their welcome screen and not my index.html page.
I contacted them in regards to this and they told me to make sure my temp internet file was empty and that my index.html page was named in lowercase.
I can view my page on the FTP server, but not on the internet. The only way to view it properly is www.po-ka-dot.com/index.html and I know that it should automatically default to this; but it doesn't.
Please help???
Thanks, Kristy

Brinkster doesn't have that problem. Brinkster offers default types, but that isn't necessary. They have a free site for learners which i use. They use browse uploads not FTP. Then we can move up to paid membership which I'll do once testing is complete. It's an IIS server so I'm not sure that would be compatible with you, but if your using IIS4/IIS,IE,Nav,VBScript/Javascript,ASP suite of developement tools, Brinkster may be the way to go. You will have to see if they offer file space, etc. They don't supply mail service in their learning package as well as other things I don't need anyway.

http://www.po-ka-dot.com/ loaded the same page for me as http://www.po-ka-dot.com/index.html. Pictures are not loading though.

Check relative URL coding VS. hard coding directory. Check your spelling. Make sure if you are using relative URL, your code is refering to the correct directory and the directories have permissions. Also maybe your provider has file restrictions and some files have to be in a specific directory.

Failing that, go to your user forum(a good provider like Brinkster has this service) usually under support, they may have tips for you.
