images view different in IE vs. firefox
hello all,
I'm having trouble fixing my code for my website so that internet explorer doesn't mangle it up. I coded for firefox, and everything works and looks fine in firefox, but when I look at my site in internet explorer, my header image (banner) is duplicated, one on top of the other. I can't figure out how to fix it. I'm using basic html, with css for layout. The banner image on top of each page is a div tag in the html page with the name of the class; and in the css page its simply a #image_1 { blah blah blah}. _____________________________________________ This is the exact code on the top of each html page: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"--> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>title</title> <meta name="keywords" content="" /> <meta name="description" content="" /> <link href="main2.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <style type="text/css"><!--.style1 {color: #C0C0C0} --></style> </head> <body> <div id="image_1"> __________________________________________ & this is the css code for the banner placements: #image_1 { width: 780px; height: 276px; margin: auto; background:url("images/home2.jpg"); border:2px solid #000; } please and thank you, dragwah Last edited by dragwah; 01-04-2009 at 03:21 PM. |
