Web site problems
Thanks to the help of this site i have managed to upload my website.
I now have another small problem: There are some errors with icons as some of them do not show correct, they show as a red x in a white box?? Can anyone advise??? Also one of the pages i uploaded does not show when you click the link..it just shows a page stating web page cannot be found (error code HTTP 404) Again can anyone please advise. Thank you in advance for your help and support. Thanks Colin |

Re: Web site problems
most of the time if you got the red x for where graphics should be its because the path is not correct. This includes 404 errors.
recheck your paths. another common mistake is the browsers is still looking at your old pages. - try deleting the files in your temporary internet folder.

Re: Web site problems
http://www.website.com/index.html
Any other URL (path) will return a 404 Page Not Found error. <img src="url where picture is stored" alt="text that is descriptive of the picture" /> Your image elements should look like this. The red X only appears if the URL above is misdirected.
