web hosting

I am new to web designing and publishing.
I have recently made a web site using Site studio, i have uploaded my site to my server.
I have uploaded to public.html, however when i look at the web address on the internet there is an idex page displayed.
From there i can click the site tab and see the website.
How can i make my website come on directly without the index page coming up??
I hope you can advise as this is driving me crazy:)
Thank you in advance

Re: web hosting

Change the name of public.html to index.html. You may need to delete the existing index.html first.
