Hello,

How can I make a slidebar for my website that has a color different from the regular light blue one?

Thank you

Re: Slide Bar

Hey, are you on about the scrollbar? e.g. scrolls up and down the page? there are css properties to change its colour but they only work in IE and aren't standard(from memory):

Adding this code to your page would change the color of the scrollbar in IE:
Code:
<style type="text/css">
body {
scrollbar-3dlight-color:#ffd700;
scrollbar-arrow-color:#ffff00;
scrollbar-base-color:#ff6347;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color:#ffa500;
scrollbar-face-color:#008080;
scrollbar-highlight-color:#ff69b4;
scrollbar-shadow-color:#ff00ff;
}
</style>
Of course you'd have to play with the values, they're just random values from basic code found on the web("CSS+scrollbar" in google)...

Cheers,
Jamey

Re: Slide Bar

Dear Jamie,

Thank you. It worked. Luckily, I was able to insert it without a problem. You are Jem. I wanted to thank Fred on the other thread, but could not find the thread I once started!

Love you all

Re: Slide Bar

Another question, many website have the head hitting the top of the browser, like this one for example: http://news.bbc.co.uk/ I create my website using MS Frontpage 2003 and first I would create a table and then cells within the table (this how I learned how to do webpages), how can I make the table hit the top of the browser? I have been struggling to do this and have looked a lot on Google, but no answer!!! Would appreciate your help.

Re: Slide Bar

That is the nature of HTML. You should not be using tables for formatting, as this can lead to ugliness and inter-operability errors. Use the cascading style sheets (CSS) instead.

Re: Slide Bar

Hey Acer, glad it worked and happy to help =]

As dm01 has said when you're formatting with tables you get that problem...

Cheers,
Jamey
