i have finished building a site for a friends wedding organizer business...
http://www.wed-dinetouches.com/
the URL has been active with a site for 4months but google havent indexed it yet?
Ive only recently uploaded the new site with metatag info and submitted the URL
how long does it take usually?

also

is there anything else I can/should do to get the site indexed/advertised?

Hey, did you add your url?

http://www.w3schools.com/site/site_search.asp is about web-searches etc. It's not very informational but the links there are self-explanatory

Google won't accept sites with undescriptive <meta /> tags. Capitalised tags and attributes don't mean anything to a browser reading a page encoded in XHTML, the content might as well not be there. The code should be:

I should note that yesterday morning i created a quick page using same program and methods - dreamweaver cs3 and same metatags and google has indexed that site - if you search for SNADGE WEB DESIGN you will get my page - http://snadge.110mb.com/ they done that inside of 24hours after URL submission - and they have crawled sites with the www.wed-dinetouches.com url on and STILL havent indexed it...

something is definately wrong here....

Before I uploaded the site to my friends domain (thats been active for 4 months - www.wed-dinetouches.com) I had it hosted on a free on (paulbartley.110mb.com) and within days google indexed it (no URL submission or metatags or links back) so I submitted a URL removal for paulbartley.110mb.com - once they removed it I submitted wed-dinetouches.com and uploaded the site (with metatags) to that URL - its been 6 days now and google have crawled links to it in forums and my new site and its STILL NOT BEEN INDEXED????

there isnt a scenario where google wont crawl sites on certain hosts is there?

also when the site was hosted on my paulbartley.110mb.com URL it DIDNT have metatag info

Ive amended the code as per google

Ive moved it to behind the title tags (it worked anyway cos facebook could read the meta data) and have remove "<meta name="robots" content="FOLLOW,INDEX" />" as google say thats default value and it doesnt need to be on

i have done about 6 days ago - I also submitted a page i made http://snadge.110mb.com/ yesterday and thats been added today

Ive a feeling summit is wrong and google are crawling the site but maybe coming aross errors OR the site may be hosted on a banned IP? - dunno?

I have even verified the site with google-webmaster-tools but it says on one page they havent crawled/indexed any pages from the site and on another says "Googlebot crawls sites by following links from page to page. We had problems crawling the pages listed here, and as a result they won't be added to our index and will not appear in search results. Review the errors below and check any affected page for problems. For example, URLs not followed errors can be a clue that some of your pages contain content (such as rich media files or images) that Googlebot can't easily crawl, or that their URL structure is not Google-friendly. "

and at the bottom it says: We have no errors to report. We crawl regularly, so check back later to see updates.

so which is it>? it HAS or HASNT..???

Iam totally confused - Iam CONVINCED that there is summit up with the site and its to do with the links to the pages being in flash objects - thats said - before I uploaded it to its proper URL (www.wed-dinetouches.com) I had it hosted for a few days on my FREE host (110mb.com) and google indexed it thru that URL within days and I had to submit a URL removal for it - THEN I uploaded metatag info to the site and hosted it on its proper domain (www.wed-dinetouches.com) that my friend bought for it and submitted URL and Sitemap to google - 6 days on and nothings happening...

This is a business site so its most important that google/Yahoo/MSN need to index it

Your site will take a while to get 'loaded into' google. The process doesnt happen instantly.

its just people have said it can take hours if i back-link it which i have done on forums and everything - the search for the name brings up these forums - ive had TWO sites indexed within 24hours - im certain something is wrong - perhaps google-bots cant crawl the IP address - ive ping'd the URL and whilst it worked - a request on the first attempt timed out.

its been 6 days , several URL submissions , a sitemap , verified the site is mine through google webmaster and linked it on hundreds of forum pages and still no index - nor with Yahoo

I have also learned that the host UK2.NET could be using a tainted IP to host thousands of sites on - through header somthing-or-other they can host many sites on one IP and if a site on the host has been naughty the bots wont crawl
