Hi, I have been speaking to a guy from WebPlus X2 who recommended the help of alfred, mjh & mike for the following query however, if any one else can help I'd really appreciate it. I am designing a website for car remapping using Webplus X2 but I am in need of combo box's that talk to eachother and that deliver the required info into a table below. i.e. make - model - edition, so when i select e.g. audi in the make then in the model box only audi models will appear in the model and edition combo's. Then you would press a "go button" and the results would appear below. I am not very knowledgable with webdesign so i need someone to strip it down and speak very basic to me please (if you are happy to supply you email/telephone number Il call you to help me do this?)... if you could log onto a website call SuperTunining.co.uk/CarRemapping you will see what I am after. When I spoke to a guy from support for X2 they said its possible to do but complex so he's unsure but to ask you guys - so i am really crossing my fingers in the hope someone knows how and willing to help me through the last stages - if not i cant produce my website and il be most gutted. Thanks - await your post. regards, Robyn (female - web design illiterate).

Re: Designing Complex Combo Box's - HELP!!!
Hey Robyn, this is doable, and shouldnt be too hard to do... Do you have any code as of yet? e.g. a page which you want this on? if you do could you post it(or give us a link to the site)...
I couldn't access supertuning.co.uk but i understand (generally) what you want. Cheers, Jamey |

Re: Designing Complex Combo Box's - HELP!!!
Hey again, could you upload the screenshots in this post? it makes life easier as everyone can see(in case someone else decides they can do a better job of it than i can).
As for webplus x2, i haven't come accross it so i can't give you instructions for adding code but do you know where the HTML files are saved? because if you do you can simply open it in a text editor(e.g. notepad) and add the code in the right place... Cheers, Jamey |

Re: Designing Complex Combo Box's - HELP!!!
Hey, could you give us the code to that site(the one you've screenshotted in "preview of my sitewp.pdf")? what's its filetype?
The problem is if this isn't some form of HTML then it will be hard to do. Cheers, Jamey |

Re: Designing Complex Combo Box's - HELP!!!
the webserif forum? if you've posted somewhere else could you post a link(i've never used webplus x2 the people there may know more than me about the subject)... As for the code etc. you should have saved this as some form of file? find the file you saved it as and tell us the extension(.html/htm/whatever it is)...
Cheers, Jamey |

Re: Designing Complex Combo Box's - HELP!!!
Basically if you post the code i can work out whether it's HTML or some form of HTML which makes Javascript un-useable, if it's the latter what you want done can't be done... If you post the code and it is do-able we can write code around the site to do what you want, but we need the code.
oh and i have 2 friends who are raking in money as webdesigners(both female) so the gender thing doesn't matter, anyone can learn to design decent sites =] |
