[SOLVED] Flash not rendering properly using FF 3.0 in Vista

The flash part of my site does not render properly when using FF 3.0 in Vista. What happens is the flash loads itself about a half inch from the top of the page, when it should be loading it right at the top. Other table margins in the page also seem blown out. I had to install an older FF 2.0 version for it to look correct. Here's the site: http://www.boulderdrumstudio.com

Any comments?

Thanks.

I do not see any problems with your page. I looked at it in three different browsers and it looks the same with some minor difference in the space between the navigation bar and the body but not from the top of the page.

try deleting the files in your ff3 cache.

Re: Flash not rendering properly using FF 3.0 in Vista

Ditto, the page rendered identically in FF3 and IE7 for me(on vista)... if you still have a problem could you illustrate it? (Screenshots etc)...

And why use CCleaner when you can just clear the cache from inside FF? random, but both solutions work so yeah...

I think the point in clearing the cache is ridding of cached stylesheets? if it is then you could also hold CTRL and click refresh (or CTRL+F5) which should force FF to re-download/re-render everything from scratch(i've had the same sort of problem whilst developing sites)...

Cheers,
Jamey

Grin Re: Flash not rendering properly using FF 3.0 in Vista

OK, I finally figured it out...no less at 3am. Somehow in installing FF 2.0 from FF 3.0 some folders got duplicated in the "Mozilla Firefox" folder in Program files. I deleted the duplicated folders, but FF then did not function at all. I uninstalled FF using win "add/remove" and made the mistake (undoubtedly due to it being 3am) of choosing not to save the profile contents of FF ie: passwords, bookmarks, etc.

Luckily for me I have FF 3.0 on another pc. I did some research and found that by coping over the "xxxxxxx.default" folder found outside of the "Mozilla Firefox" folder in Program files from one pc to another, I was able to get everything back to normal. BTW, the folder I copied over was called "Profiles."

Man, what an ordeal !!!

Thanks to you all for offering your help. It's much appreciated.
