What should I use?

I am planning on creating a program to interface some new hardware that is not supported by windows for use with windows. It's going to be a lot of coding for new age hardware. I was planning on using C++ but wanted to make sure that would be the best idea for it. Any ideas?

Re: What should I use?

*Agrees with bobalazs* C++ being a subset of C i think it is less suited to this situation. And ASM will run quickly and give you more flexibility/control over your code.

Re: What should I use?

Thanks again. I really appreciate it. I normally design just the hardware but don't do the programming. Unfortunately, our human interface programmer quit without two weeks notice so it's been left to me. I am qualified, although I am a little out of practice.
