I am looking to create a website similar to this which can show well in Firefox and IE: http://www.lon.ac.uk/
Which program would you recommend? Please advice me. Thank you "A diplomatic website which can show well in both browsers!" |

Re: Diplomatic Website
I suggest either professional help, or learning to code in HTML and CSS.
For the first google is your friend. For the second(slightly longer but more control etc.) you can learn here: www.w3schools.com I highly suggest either of these two and not trusting any program, because in all my experience they tend to be a letdown. Post back for more info etc. Cheers, Jamey |

Re: Diplomatic Website
Hi Acer2000,
Of course knowing HTML ans CSS will alsways be usefull to build your site. And you'll need good quality photos as well. But using a COntent Management System such as Joomla can speed-up enormously the building and maintenance of your site. Most HOst now offer "one click" isntall of Joomla 1.5 and there are thoussands of free templates. Plus using a database drivem site will allow all sorts of interactive / dynamic applicatiosn. Good luck, |

Re: Diplomatic Website
Personally i think joomala is a brilliant CMS. But for a diplomatic site you want to leave as little up to your own skill(if it is limited) as possible, and yet you want your site to be unique as possible(i'm just talking with the base design here not features), so open templates aren't amazing... Simply because your presentation is what will hit people straight away... Anyway, i just had something else hit me; you say diplomatic site? got anyone within your friends/something to do with whatever the subject is that would have that sort of knowledge? Because if you have then they'd be a great help.
Cheers, Jamey |
