Images not aligning properly within cells

I am putting together a website for a client, and I am having a tiny problem. The website is a giant table, with a cell for the header, menu bar, content, and footer. My problem is that images that are aligned against the side of a cell do not quite go up against the wall, unless the page is being rendered in Firefox.

You can see what I mean here. Both IE and Opera render it with the error.

However, when I take off the align="left" tag, the images brush up nicely against the wall of the cell. However, this causes severe problems to the layout.

Would you look at that. This problem came about because of improper html: I failed to include the humongous header blurb that every HTML page should include. Weird though that that is what caused it...
